IMAP Connection in Mozilla Thunderbird
To set up an IMAP connection in Mozilla Thunderbird, follow these steps:
- When starting Thunderbird for the first time after installation, the account wizard will automatically appear and offer to create a new email account. Otherwise, you need to open the wizard manually.
To do this, click "File/New/Existing Mail Account".
- Enter your name, your mail.co.uk email address/login, and your password here, then click "Next".
- Thunderbird will now perform a test connection and suggest the detected server settings. Keep the setting as "IMAP".
- Click "Done".
Your mail.co.uk account will now be listed in the left column of Thunderbird.
To display your IMAP folders in Thunderbird, you must first subscribe to them. Follow these steps:
- In Thunderbird, right-click on the name of your mail.co.uk IMAP account in the left column
- Select "Subscribe ..."
- Choose the IMAP folders you want to display from the list, then click "Subscribe"
- After closing the window, your selected IMAP folders will appear on the left
